Nine of the Most Forgotten Vacation Items

It’s fun and exciting to plan your Siesta Key vacation. You have booked your room at the Hotel on Siesta Key. Also, you have viewed the events and created a list of attractions you would like to see while you are there.

It seems like most people forget to bring something for their vacation, no matter how meticulously planned. While the Inn at Siesta Key offers many amenities to our guests, you still don’t want to spend your money on them while on vacation. Here’s a list of the most frequently forgotten vacation items.

Underwear

Although you may be laughing now, you will not be if you need to run to the store to buy new underwear because yours was lost. Sometimes, our underwear gets left behind when we spend so much time planning the right clothes for vacation.

Warm clothing

It is Florida, and you don’t necessarily need a sweater. However, it can be cold in the mornings or evenings, especially during the non-summer months. If you’re warm-blooded, it is a good idea to bring something warmer if your indoor event has an air conditioner blasting cold air at you.

Toiletries

We’ve all done it. We all have forgotten toothpaste, razors, and deodorant. These items are simple to buy at your local drugstore. However, it is not a good idea to find one as soon as you arrive at your destination. Bathroom items are the most forgotten items, so they should be packed last. You can make a list with “Bathroom Product” marked in red.

Contacts, glasses and solution

Bathroom items can be easily replaced, but what if your prescription glasses or contacts are lost? It can be not easy to get a prescription filled while away from your home. These items should be prepared, and you should have backups. Dealing with broken glasses or lost contacts on vacation is not easy. If you have extras, your vacation will go smoothly.

Power Cords and Phone Chargers

Usually, we don’t think about charging our electronic devices until it is almost dead. One spouse will look at the other and ask, “Did you bring the charger?” You should make a list of all the things that require a power cord or charger, such as phones, cameras, and laptops. Make sure you have it with you when packing the device. If you don’t, you will pay a lot more at an amusement park or beachside shop.

Your Prescription Medications

It will take you a lot of time to forget to get the medication you need. Waiting in a pharmacy queue for hours is not something that takes the joy out of vacation. Before you leave home, double-check your medications and ensure that you have enough to last the duration of your trip.

Swimsuit

It would be easy to assume that everyone who travels to Siesta Key will bring their swimsuit. But it is a common mistake to forget to pack one. Your swimsuit will be worn a lot, so make sure you have more than one. You can pack one for each person in your group so that you have another to use while you wait for the first one to dry.

An Umbrella & Ziplock Bags

Florida is always at risk of a sudden rainstorm. To ensure your camera, wallet, and phone stay dry at all costs, it’s a good idea to have an umbrella and some plastic bags.

A Belt

Many men forget to pack their belts when packing a dress shirt, slacks, and shoes. You’ll find at least one man pulling his pants up at a dressier restaurant or concert hall. Don’t let this happen.

Lessons Learned

It helps you plan and add items as you think about them. You will lose track of things if you try to make a list last minute. Remember to put everything on your list.

People often forget to list the important things. It’s these (see above) that people leave at home. This will help you get the most out of your vacation.
